Train Traveling in Australia

Train traveling in Australia can take a bit of time as compared to bus traveling and flying. However, traveling in this amazing country by train definitely has its perks. For one, compared to bus travel or airline travel, you can have a proper bed for sleeping, which many train companies in Australia offer. You can also get up and stretch your legs anytime you want or have a meal anytime from the restaurant car. It is completely safe as well but if you want more security, you can always check or sign up with a good travel insurance company to reduce any concerns.

Some of the more popular train companies in Australia are the The Ghan, The Overlander, and Indian Pacific. The Ghan ride lasts for 3 days and travels Adelaide to Darwin. Meanwhile, The Overlander travels between Melbourne and Adelaide a few times a week and offers travelers the best daytime scenery. The Indian Pacific offers a ride that lasts for 3 days and goes from the east to the west coast, from Sydney to Perth.

The class of service varies in each train. Usually there is preference given to international visitors. You can choose from standard lounge seats to first class private rooms. Discounts are often given to backpackers and students. In case of travel emergencies, it is best to sign up for a good health insurance program  in Australia such as HBF that would cover certain hospital treatment and other health urgencies.

Train traveling in Australia is a surefire road adventure you will not want to miss!
